Confession of Faith: Sola Gratia
Are we sinful and deserving of condemnation?
And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following thecourse of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience— among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of
wrath, like the rest of mankind (Ephesians 2:1-3)
Why would God choose to redeem us if we are deserving of condemnation?
Because of His grace. The scriptures say, “But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved. (Ephesians 2:4-5)
Is there anything we can contribute?
No. Even our good works are from His grace as the scriptures say, “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus
for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. (Ephesians 2:8-10)

Confession of Faith: Solus Christus
Who is the mediator between God and Man?
It is Christ alone, for the scriptures say, “For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.” (1 Timothy 2:5)
How does Christ’s mediation benefit us?
We are covered in His innocence and perfect holiness, for the scriptures say, “For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.” (Romans 8:3-4
Are we able to add to Christ’s work on our behalf?
No, for that would give us reason to boast, for the scriptures say, “And because of him you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption, so that, as it is written, “Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.” (1 Corinthians 1:30-31)

Confession of Faith: Sola Fide
How are we able to be right with God?
By faith and not by works, for the scriptures say, “For we hold that one is justified by faith apart from works of the law.” (Romans 3:28)
How is it that faith makes us right with God?
Because faith rests on and receives from Jesus Christ. For the scriptures say, “I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” Galatians 2:20
Are good works able to save us, either now or in the final judgement?
No, for that would nullify God’s grace. For the scriptures say, “I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness were through the law, then Christ died for no purpose. Galatians 2:2

Confession of Faith: Sola Scriptura
Where do you find the wisdom to know God?
We find it in “The sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Jesus Christ.” (2 Timothy 3:15)
What is the source of the scriptures?
The inspiration of the Holy Spirit, for the scriptures say, “No prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.” (2 Peter 1:21)
Are they sufficient for life and godliness?
Yes, for God’s word says, “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16)
